Evangelism Committee

Purpose:

To provide for the guidance and nurture of our parishioners and neighborhood, promoting our vision of a Christ-centered, multi-cultural community and attracting people to the Kingdom of Christ through spiritual and social activities.

Actions:

  • Greet visitors and provide follow-up
  • Sponsor new member and parish-wide events
  • Update church calendar
  • Oversee church activities

 


Arts and Architecture Committee

Purpose:
To oversee our Church building, which has been designated a historic landmark. Specifically, to ensure the restoration of this beautiful structure, which has deteriorated somewhat over time, so that it will continue to be a beautiful, safe and structurally sound asset to its Park Hill neighborhood

Actions:

1) To identify specific areas of concern affecting the safety and structure of the building
2) To determine areas in need of repair or replacement
3) To find the funds to do the necessary work

Members:

Parishioners with interest, experience and/or expertise in various areas of building design, decoration, or maintenance/repair



Christian Education Committee

Purpose:

Education goals:

  • To act as a loving, faith-based community
  • To affirm the sacredness of all God’s children
  • To offer an engaging educational program which is exciting, challenging and fun for all

Actions:

1) To determine curriculum for both children and adult classes
2) To train teachers for the children’s curriculum
3) To offer special training and education events from time to time

Members:

Those in the parish with interest, experience and/or expertise in various areas of education

Men’s Group

The Men of the Church generally meet on the first Saturday morning of each month.  They listen to a thought-provoking speaker and afterwards have the opportunity to engage in a round of golf together.   They also sponsor such activities as our summer barbeques and the parish’s Shrove Tuesday pancake dinner.

Urban and Social Concerns

Purpose:
The purpose of Urban and Social Concerns activities is to enable our parishioners to be agents of Christ, utilizing financial contributions and our time to provide care and help to our neighborhood, the larger community, and the world.

Actions:

  • Interfaith Hospitality Network participation.  This has become our primary focus for outreach to our neighbors, by providing food and shelter to families without homes 4 weeks during the year
  • Loaves and Fishes Sunday in July
  • Providing food to Metro Care-Ring and Park Hill neighborhood throughout year
  • Membership on the Greater Park Hill Community, Inc. board
  • Assistance to SHARE - a neighborhood food co-op that also fosters community service
  • Christmas gifts for the Women’s Shelter and St. Francis Center
